Group policy server 2000 to xp professional.

    Hi guy , i have 60 windows 2000 workstation , we are upgrading all the computer to windows XP Professional , we want to used G.Policy and OU , to restrict some destop icons and games.

    do i have to installed anything special software on windown 2000 server so the GP will work on windows xp machines , i know i will work fine on windows 2000 professional

    thanks for any help here

    The GPOs should work fine on Windows XP; there's nothing you need to install on the server. As with any network upgrades though, it's a good idea to test things. Try upgrading a couple of computers and test to see if everything is working as expected. Make sure all the applications on the client computers work under XP.

    Will work fine after testing as suggested, just get a more limited GPO set with W2k
