You should have a dropdown something like View, Format and in that section Show Message (or Preview) Pane. You just turn that off and it won't try to preview your mail when you click on it. You'll need to double click your mail, and it will open in a separate window.

    sutsujsti,

You may have to resort to a new Profile in order to totally correct this problem. You might create a "Test" profile with one Mail Account, and see if this allows you to click on the Junk Status icon and not have the next message open.

Hi Ramona I was afraid you were going to say that! I guess I should look on the good side! If it works it will force me to clean out my email. I keep up on it pretty good by archiving it to cd but its not an everyday thing. I will set up a new profile and let you know how things work! I was talking to my brother-in-law the other day and he said he had the same trouble,he also said he noticed that when he look at the things that were moved to his junk folder (by the junk filter) it was marked as read go figure.
By creating the new training file seemed to help my spam filter! it seems to be catching more spam. Also I started marking the email that wasn't junk as not junk (which I never realized you had to do) I figured that to train it you just marked things that were junk! Well THX for all of your good work here I will keep you posted

Well I created a new profile and it still acts the same way! So it must be the way 1.5 acts

    sutsujsti,

My 1.5 doesn't do that, so there's something somewhere that isn't configured correctly. Let me do some more research and see what I can come up with.

    sutsujsti,

Look at this Screen Shot, and tell us if this is the way you have your Junk Mail set up.

I have, basically, the same settings as Ramona, except that I have chosen to have Junk mail deleted automatically after 1 day, and, I manually select it to go to Trash. I am getting very little Junk mail/Spam so I have plenty of time to clean up.

I think that it is about the same as my settings. I used to mark manually to go to the Junk folder, but no more. I see what the mail goes, and it may as well go, learning or not.
