Hello all, I apologise if this has been answered here before, but I have searched and can not find a difinitive answer although the answer may well be here somewhere.:) Dell Dimension 4100, 883, 512m ram, ME, bios version A06. I am going to upgrade or clean install XP Home. I 'think' I read somewhere that before I do this I should update the bios. The updated bios for this computer is currently at A11. My question is do I need to do all the other updates, A07 thru A10? I really hate to do this because of the horror stories I have heard about messing with the bios. Is it really that bad or will all be well if I am very careful? Thanks for any help,

    best regards, Frank

I have not checked your specific system but BIOS updates are cumulative (the most recent one contains all previous "fixes ").

Read the release notes for the versions A07-A11. If any of them has a "fix" that you need, then go ahead and update to A11. If not, don't do it.
