My company is using a network scanner that scans documents via FTP.

They provide no information on how to set up and use and their tech staff has been no help.

Our desire is to have scanned documents accessible via the Networks F: Drive that has been set up.

is this possible or will it need to be accessed via an ftp application.

I am not a network specialist, but did install my network "All-in-One" printer/scanner/fax. Set up via my XP with included install disk. With no "All-in-One" software installed on any other pc in the network, all pc's have access to the scanner. By inputting the IP address of the printer/scanner into my Internet browser, the scanner application is loaded. When scan is finished, user selects "Save As" and directs where image is stored. In a company network, I'm sure their will be more considerations, but at least you have a basic road map. We have some sharp network guru's on the forums. When they chime in, can provide you with the required details.

so they'll be doing the scans at the scanner? if so, i'm not sure what the issue is. is there a 'default' save location available in the scanner setup? if so, and it can use UNC pathing, just setup the default to map to u'r F: share.

eg - u'r setup F: share is defined as:

    \\server\F_drive

then find the default 'save' setting in the scanner setup and see if it will allow u to enter \\server\F_drive or \\IP_NUMBER_OF_SERVER\F_drive
