My Norton Antivirus is messed up and I want to uninstall it but everytime I uninstall it (using add/remove programs), when i restart my computer and try to open windows media player it says something about an internal application error and my system restore doesnt work, so then I have to put in those two registry files that makes it work again. And magically windows media player works again. I used registry mechanic and they said I have problems in the thousands, whats wrong and how can I fix this?

If you're trying to remove NAV 2003 or earlier version, click here to open a page where you can get Norton's uninstaller, RNAV2003.

Removing Norton entirely may solve the problems.

I haven't used Registry Mechanic so hopefully someone with more knowledge of it will provide advice on it.

Click here and see if anything on that Symantec page helps.
