When trying to install office 2000 pro I get the window: The system administrator has set polocies to prevent this installation.
I then entered Computer Managenent (Shared Folders) then cliked on (shares) and get Error Code 2114 Server Service is NOT started. Need Help at this Point if someone could...Den........

    Hi there,

I'm not shure if i understand your question correctly, but you should try to log in as an administrator. Probable you are logged in as an "User" and you should not have rights to install or uninstall program's .

Edit:Sorry dude it slipped my eyes that you are in Adminstrator mode (stoned mode ) but maybe it has something to do with the share...

Have you tried installing in another folder ?

    Ok,

Try regcleaner and then check for entries in your register using the program...and delete them office registerkey's. You can also use this program to uninstall program's.
It's freeware u should get it using google..

Would seriously consider reinstalling windows. Sounds like more than the office has been damaged.

probable a service is NOT started...

    Got this searching newsgroups..

    Code:
    error 2114

The Server service is not started.

    EXPLANATION

The specified server is not started. The server must be started before you
    can run this command.

    ACTION

Use the Services option in Computer Management System Tools to start the
    Server service.
Try the command again after the server has been started. If you need
    assistance, contact your network administrator.

    And

    Code:
with any windows error code, you can go to a command prompt and type 'net
    helpmsg code'

so in this case you would type 'net helpmsg 2114'

But why you are trying to install in a shared folder ??
The program won't work from different stations anyway..

Well I guess I was just trying anything to tell you the truth, but I see your point. Only thing I can think of at this point is that the office 2000 pro was protected and when I uninstalled it then the same protection is preventing me from installing it. Hmmm, that almost sounds stupid but 'am running out of ideas. For the heck of it I tried installing Office 2000 SR-1 and it all worked perfect!! But many thanks to all of you guys fer trying to help me out and I do appreciate it....Maybe the O/S is ******* up somehow!...Den.......
