I'm having trouble accessing a couple of sites.....I get the error message....
    "The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings "

I think it must be my browser settings ????
Because sometimes it connects to the sites in question and sometimes not.
If I turn of the power to my Belkin F5D7632UK4 ADSL Modem with wireless G router off....then...on again...It connects...to the sites in question ?
It has just started doing this....I have had the router 6 months with no problems, and no settings have been adjusted.

I'm running XP Pro with SP2.

    Can you help!!!!!!!!!!

Thank You For Taking the Time To Read This.

I rather doubt that you have a problem with your browser settings as you can contact the sites intermittently.

FWIW - and unlikely to be helpful here ....

"The page cannot be displayed" error message when you try to start Internet Explorer "
At first sight it could be said that there is a fair chance that the root of the problem lies here, but it is strange that you say that only two sites are affected - this seems to rule out a modem/wireless problem

Powering the modem off and then on again is the same as reconnecting to the site - have you tried the Refresh button when 'Page cannot be displayed' is shown? It is possible that these two sites are experiencing problems at their end.

Feel free to post one or both of the URL's and we can check them out on our connections.

lammy--I would not expect Winsock fix to help since you have said the problem occurs with only two sites.
You could try disabling your firewall briefly. Or are you perhaps running a thirdparty firewall at the same time you are running Windows Firewall? (WinXP SP2 installs and runs Windows Firewall by default.) You should only run one firewall. Disable the Windows Firewall (Control Panel|Windows Firewall), since it is not as good as most third party firewalls.
It also could be a problem with your proxy settings for those sites.
Is this problem something new? Have you been able to reach these sites with no problem until just recently? The sites could be having server problems. Or is use of the Belkin router new?
