problems with microsoft update page

When I review the update history on my mother's computer (XP Home), there are a couple of updates that show up as "canceled ". I'd like to install them, just for the sake of completeness, even though according to the "automatic detector" (or whatever it's called), there are no critical updates left for this computer. The "restore hidden updates" option is grayed out; I don't know if that's related or not.
Can anyone tell me how to reactivate the "restore hidden updates" option, for starters?

they can be cancelled and then installed later. is this the case here? or are u sure that the patches in Q are not installed? IOW - cancelled doesn't necessarily mean 'not installed'

if the latter is true, u can just dl the patches manually and run them.
