Whenever I copy a My Pictures file to a CD I get a Window with the caption: Confirm Stream Loss. In there is a warning that the "Thumbs" file may not be copied. What is a Thumbs data file and what is it there for? My Picture files seem to download ok and can retrieve photo's. I would guess that the Thumbs data file was creaded by something for something to work right. Hope someone out there can help me with some information. Or where I can find out about that type of file.

    Hello El Parro,

A Thumbs data file is created and used by picture processing apps to store info about the picture - an index (the order of the pictures), the number of items, and so on.

In its absence, it will be re created when loaded out again. This is a problem only if you're using a 3rd party app and putting your pictures in an order other than in raw file name order.

    Regards - Charles
