Does anyone know what is SMReminder.exe in Win2000 (Professional) for? It seems to consistently chew 14-15% CPU on my 1GHz home machine.

It doesn't seem to impact performance at all but does seem odd.

    I searched Microsoft.com ;) but doh! didn't think of a general search engine :(

    Google is my favourite too

This time round I must have just had a mental block .. I must say "Use Google" 5 times before going to bed to remind myself in future ;)

I've regedit-ed SMReminder.exe out of the RUN list; tested it doesn't come back either when I start Shockmachine up -- at least so far anyway.

    Thanks.
