Personal Memory (non-PC ) failing. Need Help.

I know that 98 makes backups of the registry in the form of the RB000X.CAB files in the C:\Windows\Sysbckup folder. I just looked and there are 5 of them dated properly. 1/3 > 1/7.

What I do NOT know ( REMEMBER ) is how to use them as it has been quite a while since I even thought about them.

Although I do remember that I would manually check to make sure there was one made BEFORE installing any new software. But I do not remember now how to even make one if I should need to.

But I do not remember how to use them to replace the reg if need be.

Even though you folks may give me the requested info I WILL NOT just experiment. I do not wish to ( as the old saying goes ) "Upset the apple cart" At least not on my Wifes' machine. I do have a 3rd one that I can mess with. Any help that you can give this Old Man would be much appreciated.

    Thank you Steve.

I took a quick peek at the sites and things look pretty familiar NOW. I thought that is the way it was but was was not going to gamble.

But that site will be added to Favorites. Just in case.

    Thanks again.
