Explorer 6 Freezes When On Line

I operate Windows 98 SE, Explorer 6, Outlook express 6.

When I am on line for more than ten minutes my explorer freezes up, I wait but still nothing happens. I do Ctrl/Alt/Delete and wait and wait and wait then the flash screen appears with (THIS PROGRAM IS NOT RESPONDING), I press END TASK the system goes back to my desktop. I disconnect from the internet and try to restart my computer I wait and wait and wait the flash screen appears EZULA APP (THIS PROGRAM IS NOT RESPONDING) I press END TASK or SHUT DOWN before my system reboots. Note OUTLOOK EXPRESS dose not freeze. Can someone please explain whats going on before I dump this thing out the window.
