My XP Home SP2 purrs along just fine as is but once in a while, like on the NOAA weather site I am informed that to track the loop on the radar I must have Java enabled. I`m not a gamer and I seem to remember not getting along too well with Java in the dim and distant past. Like maybe when I was using 98. Any tips or tricks or pitfalls I should know about? Download or leave the hood down?
    Thanks
    Dick

Most users (99+%) have no trouble with Java. You will have to check for updates because like any other software, there will be vulnerabilities to patch and that is done by releasing a new version.

Go to JAVA SOFTWARE for Your Computer and either click "Download Now" for a web install or click "Manual Download ", save to the hard disk and install from there (offline installation).
