Did you place the motherboard standoffs in the correct locations and use any fiber washers if included? The motherboard may be shorting out against the case.

Needs two power supplies to the motherboard - are they both connected? Check out the mobo manual for locations.

Unless it is one full block of 24 connectors, the power supply connectors to the motherboard will be one block of 20 connectors and one block of 4 connectors, that is the two power supplies that PeteC is referring to.

No lights, do any fans start?
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
The CPU may be too "modern" for the motherboard. I found this lately trying to install a Sempron 64 bit, 754 pin CPU on a motherboard whose BIOS did not recognise the 64 bit CPU, it only recognised Athlon 64 bit or Sempron 32 bit, if this sounds familiar you will need one of those CPUs to start the machine, then upgrade the BIOS to "see" the Sempron 64 bit processor.
    or
send it back to the motherboard supplier for them to upgrade the BIOS.
Edit: reread and see you have an Intel system, although "the song remains the same ".

    Hi Matt,
It comes with block of 20 and you can attach the other 4 blocks, which i have done that.It makes it a total of 24 connectors connecting to the main board.

    anything else u can suggest.

    Thanks

Do you see any "activity" when you press the power button? This is important.

It may not recognise the CPU.

There may be a problem with the type of RAM, although you would probably find there would be "beep" signals.

You may need to let us know more about what "symptoms" it shows.

Run through the "stickies" at this website:

    I'm 100% i checked and still didn't work.
I used different psu and it worked fine.
I wanted to know if the motherboard is faulty, does the cpu startup?

    Thanks

Nothing will start without power to the board - CPU can certainly start on a faulty motherboard depending on where the fault lies.

Seems to me that you have resolved your problem.

You have a point there :) clearly not awake when I posted.

I am not familiar with these high end video cards, let alone PCi Express - I am still happy with my 32 Mb Matrox G550 running dual monitors.

I seem to recall reading the computer mags that some of these cards have an independent power supply - is that the case with yours and is it connected?

If the card has two monitor connections have you tried both? Generally an adaptor is provided to enable a std D-Sub plug to fit the digital output socket.

The monitor is not getting a signal from the graphics card. I just saw PeteC's response and was going to suggest connecting the graphics card's other "head" as well.

Pull out and reseat the graphics card, you can also try cleaning the connectors with a soft pencil eraser.

Does everything else work? Do you see the drive LEDs flash? No beeps?

Since you have had problems with the PSU, I would consider using the "reset CMOS" jumper and after that, maybe removing all hardware and connections and starting again from scratch.

My Gigabyte motherboard has real problems with graphics, of 4 graphics cards I have installed on it, only 2 work, but I must say that it is a 2001 model.
