I remember noticing a large file that WIN XP Home uses for storing hibernation info, but can not remember the name of it? Does anyone know the name or location?
I turned hibernation off and wonder if this hibernation file can be safely deleted?
    Thanks.

The name is hiberfil.sys and it is in the root of C: (if that's the location of the operating system).

With hibernation turned off, it should go away by itself but if not, delete it.

Right click on an unused portion of the desktop got to properties\screensaver\power\hibernation. Uncheck Enable hibernation. Click Apply OK. XP will automatically delete the contents of Hyberfil.sys.

I did turn off the hibernation and then looked at the C drive for hiberfil, but I guess it was already deleted--so I couldn't find it.
    Thank you all.
