Need some help with yet another HJT log

    I have a friend's PC to hopefully rid it of viruses and spyware. I've installed SpyBot, Adaware, Spyware Blaster, and AVG and updated and scanned with all (the scans removed a lot of stuff). I used disk cleanup to delete temporary files, the recycle bin and temporary internet files. I've also turned off system restore until I get it clean. I'm posting the HJT log to see if there is anything the other programs have missed, and I'm sure there is.

    YOUR CHOICE:
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE
    Realtek AC97 Audio - Event Monitor. Supposed "Sypware" file used surreptitiously monitor one's actions. It is not a sinister one, like remote control programs, but it is being used by Realtek to gather data about customers. This info was obtained via google searches and I cannot verify it.

    CAUTION: This is a valid system process that loads when windows boots and then automatically terminates itself. There is a trojan on record that uses this name, so do NOT remove this unless absolutely certain it is the trojan:
    F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=userinit.exe

    You likely did this scan immediately after a reboot. Scan again w/ HJT but do not scan until after the system has been up & running for a few minutes. The userinit should not appear in process list by then, it should terminate automatically, in which case you will know that it is not a trojan infection.

    Hi TonyT,

    I'll take care of the entries you mentioned, but I will let it sit for a few minutes after boot before running the scan. I can't remember if I had just rebooted or not when I ran it. I would have thought there would be more than this to clean up, I guess that's a good thing. I'll post another HJT log when I've completed fixing these. Thanks for the reply.

    I cleaned up everything you instructed, even the userinit.exe. I waited 5 minutes after boot, ran the scan and it was still there. Removing it seems to have had no ill effect. I'm posting a new log to see if there is anything remaining to clean up. Thanks again for the help;
