i have a comput (compaq presario 5465 desk ) o/s windows 98se on dial-up(bellsouth) i can get connected but and this is going to seem silly but the icon does not go down into the systray. in order to disconnect you have to go the desk to the icon there and right click to disconnect. bellsouth when i spoke to them said that that would only happen if i had xp as my o/s! funny because i just put the other 98se on dial-up and that icon went down into the systray pretty as you please.

any ideas as to how i can get it to do like the other computer? im not sure if i have a correct forumn

Try this: Double-click "My Computer" then "Dial-Up Networking ". Click "Connections ", select "Settings..., then click the "General" tab. Place a checkmark in the little box to the left of "Show an icon on taskbar after connected" and then click "OK ".
