I just upgraded one of my computers to XP Pro, my other still has W2K Pro, when I try to access shared drives etc on the W2K machine..XP is asking for a user and password, In the past I had to enter only a password to get there, now I am confused, I tried every combination of user names and passwords I can think of, which is only 2, but no access..Help Please, Oh, and I can get to the shared XP drives, folders etc ok from the W2K machine.

Try specifying the computer name as well as the username in the username box.

So to connect to PC "Computer1" as user "George ", in the username box you'd enter:

    Computer1/George

You did good! It works, my other computer whom I named after my wife is "deb" so I used deb\deb with no password (never set one, just computer name) and there it was, Thanks again.
