2 computer connection (laptop - pc)

    I have a double ended USB cable that i can connect from my laptop to my pc. How can i use my double ended USB cable to ensure that i can transfer a lot of files from my pc to my laptop.

    The easiest way to accomplish this is to use software to transfer files between the two. PC Linq from Prolific Technology is a good one if you can find it. Most USB A to A cables come with some kind of software.

    But my cable didnt come with any software and i cant find pc linq.

    Do you know of any other software that does the same job that i should be able to download?

    I've downloaded that but it wont let me get a connection between my computers. Neither of my computers know that they are connected via a usb cable.

    I also have what I think is an ethernet cable (looks like a phone cable but the ends are narrower), if this can help my situation on transferring files from my computer to my laptop.

    You can connect your two 'puters together using a CAT cable, providing it is a crossover cable. Advice here.
    I think you need a special USB cable - the one I have used in the past has a module included about halfway down the length -e.g.
