    Hi ,

Its the old click on a email link in a browser and end up with 50 or 60

browser pages poppin up on my screen, hair out none left, Im bald...

so Ive already tried to reset the default to outlook express by the obvious method from in OE, tools, options, general then select default to outlook,
apply then go back and it has not done what asked.

So I treid pasting in run

    "%ProgramFiles%\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" no good

    "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg no good

then reboot and reset defaults, it doesn't work, still get the mutiple browsers,

Any help will be greatfully received......

sim--What are these multiple browsers showing? Multiple views of the site you wanted to go to? (Are they all in IE as the browser?)
Or sites you did not want to link to?
If the latter, it could be spyware or a virus. I suggest the procedure here
    http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=37074
If the former, please post the version of Windows and OE that you use. You may just need to repair OE/IE, but the procedure varies with version.

Not sure I understand that or the other fixes you tried.

    Hi Jim,

I should of explained it a little better,

    Surfing the net, click on a email link which would normally bring up a send email box, instead I get a error message;
"Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed" then from that box you have to click ok to it and thats when you get about 60 Multiple IE browsers,

In Internet Explorer click tools>internet options>programs. What do you have showing there for the default email program?

    Hi Zander,

    thanks for the time,

    Email shows as, Outlook express
    News groups, OE
    Internet call, Net meeting
    Calender, OE
    Contact list, OE

    Answer for Jim,

IE boxes are just multi browser boxes of the original page I was on,
if you imagine been on a website and you click on a email us link say
it appears as contact us or maybe a direct derek@d-simpson.fsnet.co.uk
once you have clicked on the link the error message appears and the multi boxes appear up to about 60 of them, checked for viruses with AVG and microsoft spyware, also have a firewall running.

    thanks again guys..
