Hi, I have a small problem in outlook express. Whenever I get any e-mail, it has *spam?* in the subject line. Also, whenever I send any email out, all of the people that i send to get the same *spam?* message. Is there any way to stop this? Thank you.

illbred--Is that exactly what appears in the subject line? Is there any more, like the normal type of info you would expect to see in the subject line?
I understand this happens on all email. Is the email involved actually spam or normal messages? I presume you are not talking about just forwarded email.
Is *spam?* already in the Subject line when you send an email or only when the recipient gets the email?
You can see by all the questions that I have not seen this problem before.
It could be some virus or spyware infection. You could try this procedure

It would not hurt in any event.
If this just started recently you could try a System Restore to a date before it happened. (But run the above procedure first.)
Or you could try to repair your OE installation.
Start|Run|type sfc /scannow|OK. Have your Windows CD ready since you may be asked to insert it into the CD-ROM drive. And stay by the PC since you may have to click Retry several times. It takes some minutes.

When my BT ISP here in the UK first started filtering spam, a lot of my email would come with “SPAM?” in the subject line. It was their filters letting through email they weren’t sure of – hence the question mark after SPAM – just to let people know that it may be spam. A lot of genuine email also had the SPAM? tag, but after a short time the filters began to get better and soon almost none were wrongly identified. The real spam stopped getting through almost altogether and now I only see about one a week and can’t remember the last time I even saw the SPAM? tag.

Perhaps this is what is happening to you, but I was not aware of other people also receiving the same thing in my email to them. Or perhaps it’s something completely different in your case.

McTavish--That sure sounds like a good explanation. (I missed the significance of the ?.) Hope it is correct.
