I have windows xp home and for some reason i cant switch between my user profiles. I have to either log out completly of one profile to log onto another or sometimes i have to shut down the computer completly to log onto another. Please help.

Iv tried all the basic options in the users in the control panel but still nothing. Please help...

If disabled, then enable Fast User Switching Compatibility Service (recomended setting - Manual).

Start / Control Panel / Adminstration / Services

    Perhaps this helps.

a repair install may help ... it's worth a shot ... i normally just do a full/clean after backup if i'm going thru the trouble since it guarantees a solid system but ... repair option may work for ya as well. i'd still backup prior tho and that's the reason i'd go full since u'r spending the time anyway ;)

all in all tho - i never use user switching. it slows the system down way too much for my tastes so ... if in u'r shoes, i wouldn't have an issue w/ not being able to do so ;)

u also should have the option of system restore - that's a good bet on solution given u've got a date prior to the spyware issues. and u'd prolly need to run some app installs or patches that are subsequent to that date but ... that's another thing to try at least
