I've just bought a new copy of Sony Vegas. Besides entering the serial number, it needs me to enter the computer ID of my system. I can't find this so called "Computer ID ", anyone know were to find it in Win XP?

I wonder if it is the computer name that is required ....

Right click My Computer > Properties > Computer Name.

Guess you've looked at the installation instructions in the manual??

I've gone through the manuals, both printed and online, but can't find a thing.

I did find this site however:

    http://www.74mph.com/faq/FAQ00152.html

But it talks about a computer name.

I thought your computer ID is just a heap of scrambled numbers and letters, just like a serial?
