I have a hard drive with a totally borked Win 98. I put it in another computer as a second drive to get files off of it. On it, in Outlook Express are supposed to be some emails that contained pictures. Is there a way to get these pictures off of this drive without trying to reinstall 98 and make the computer work??

    Thanks!!

Okay, I managed to find the inbox on the Win98 drive with that and I have a "donor computer" that I want to replace the inbox on and see if I can get the emails. But the donor is WinXP. A search for *.mbx and for inbox all come up negative. Now, I *know* there has to be an inbox because when I ran OE for the first time it already has an email! Where do I need to shove this file??? :p

EDIT I found it. New install, I had to unhide folders. It still didn't work. Oh well....

Do you mean you didn't get the emails from the old inbox imported? If so, how did you do it? You should copy the inbox from the 98 computer to some location on the new one (not in OE's current store folder) and then open OE and click file>import>messages and point it at the old file. That should get you there. Once you've got it, you can delete the inbox file that came from the 98 computer.
