profiles disappeared - can i SAVE my mail?

hey folks,

i've been "using" NS Comm v4.79 for years
never felt the need to upgrade

made a great writing tablet
i saved all my scratches in "drafts "
never once considering backup or
indep.storage

then it happened... a few months ago:
during a sloppy defrag (overnight)
i woke up and, half-asleep, hit the power button.

In the mornin' Windows wasn't pleased
seems my actions prior and subsequent
caused Registry to become Corrupt
tried to restore - no luck (don't ask)

so just wanna get those "drafts "
- wherever they may be -
out of this drive before i re-format it.

sure hopin' you folks can help:

Explorer shows a "mozilla" folder
but instead of containing a "profiles" folder
there's nothin'....
but a single "registry.dat" file

understand the string should be
C:\windows\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\<username>\xxxxXXXX.slt\mail

i'm tryin' to remain optimistic
figure those text files email drafts)
gotta be settin' someplace
in some kinda hidden sorta file structure

note: haven't opened my NS Communicator since the tragedy
so techniquely.. everything's where it was left.

You're looking in the wrong place for your Mail. The path you show is for Netscape 7/8. If you are using Communicator 4.79, then this is the correct path:
C:\Program Files\Netscape\Users\username\Mail

The Drafts should be in the Mail folder...
