I have 3 servers that has Windows 2K Active Directory with DNS configued. The client is configued with all 3 servers as Primary DNS, Second DNS etc.

The problem is when I take down the Primary DNS server, the client doesn't immediately use the Secondary DNS server or the third DNS server.

Is there a way to configure the client(s) to switch right away to Secondary or any other DNS server when the Primary is down or not reachable?

Clients computer are running Windows 2K Pro or Windows XP Pro.

Does the same thing happen regardless of which DNS is listed on a client as the primary?
