When I try to update MSAS, I get a message that it can't detect an internet connection. However, my DSL connection is working fine for everything else. I have the latest version of MSAS that was released a week or so ago.
    Your thoughts/advice appreciated.

My inclination would be to download the latest MSAS from MS, uninstall the existing copy and install the fresh copy - then try to update the definitions. Something has got fouled up or corrupted somewhere.

    Unable to update MSAS??

For the last 48 hours or so I have not been able to update my MSAS manually or on auto. Before I checked with BBS I had already uninstalled and then installed the latest version that I could find. I am getting the same message as Timmins. Are any others having this problem? and if so do they have any ideas or info on why? or should we just wait it out? This is the only program "of my many" having this problem. Thanks loonychoons

You are not the only ones having this problem ....

I checked out the Newsgroup and it is reported there.

I also tried an update on my laptop which has MSAS installed (Counterspy on the desktop) with the same result. Uninstalled and installed the earlier version. Same problem. Updated again to the latest version, same problem.

I suspect a problem with the MS servers - Microsoft Update has been very slow to log onto in the past 48 hrs or so. My guess is that the 'Cannot connect to Internet' means cannot connect to server. Al the more so as if I disconnect from the Internet and then check for updates the connection is requested - and succeeds.

Have to wait it out I guess.
