In Tweak, there was options to remove only some of the desktop arrows. Can I resmove the rest?

Whiskeyman, I downloaded System Mechanic. It has an option to remove short cut arrows.

    Try Right-Clicking on ShortCut Icon!

I just right click on the offending icon and then select delete.

You can also launch TweakUI. Select Desktop and UnCheck the five icons.

TweakUI in located in your ProgramFiles folder I believe.

Or, try Start Programs All Programs and look for Powertoys for Windows.

    Hope this helps.

This small registry file adds Tweakui to Control Panel ...
    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{D14ED2E1-C75B-443c-BD7C-FC03B2F08C17}]
    @= "TweakuiXP "
"InfoTip "= "Starts the Tweakui program which customises advanced options in Windows "

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{D14ED2E1-C75B-443c-BD7C-FC03B2F08C17}\DefaultIcon]
    @= "%SystemRoot%\\\\System32\\\\tweakui.exe,0 "

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{D14ED2E1-C75B-443c-BD7C-FC03B2F08C17}\Shell]

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{D14ED2E1-C75B-443c-BD7C-FC03B2F08C17}\Shell\Open]

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{D14ED2E1-C75B-443c-BD7C-FC03B2F08C17}\Shell\Open\command]
    @= "tweakui.exe "

    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{D14ED2E1-C75B-443c-BD7C-FC03B2F08C17}\ShellFolder]
     "Attributes "=dword:00000030

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ControlPanel\NameSpace\{D14ED2E1-C75B-443c-BD7C-FC03B2F08C17}]
@= "Add Tweakui to Control Panel "
Alternatively download the attached .txt file and change the extension to .reg and merge into the registry.

You can use Regseeker to get rid of all of the arrows. It does it pretty much in the same manner that they use in the link that Whiskeyman posted except that they use their own transparent icon. If you prefer not to mess with the registry this is another option. In Regseeker, click on tweaks on the left side of the window.
