I'm running windows 2k. I keep getting the above message on almost every website. When I hit the refresh button 8-10 times, somtimes I'll get the site to come up. Any ideas? Thanks.

Browser issue (or possibly networking setup) rather than OS issue.

Have you dumped temporary internet files and history lately?
    Have you rebooted lately?
What browser version are you running?
Business network (with firewalls & such) or home network or single PC?
    Dial-up or broadband?

Download Firefox and give it a try. If it runs OK while IE struggles to reach sites then you need to run a repair of IE.

If Firefox behaves the same way, check your event logs to see if there are related errors/warnings. If you find any that don't make sense but look as if they offer additional information, open an event, click on the icon below the up/down arrows (sends a text copy to your clipboard) and paste the event in a reply here.

Firefox acts the same way as IE 6. Please guide me to my events log.

Click on start, on run, key in eventvwr.msc and click OK. You need to look in both your system and your application logs for possibly related events. I'd concentrate on errors (red flagged) and warnings (yellow flagged) first.

It is possible that you have no problems and that your ISP has issues but best to check your local system first.
