    Hi folks,

Has anyone seen this issue before, I am using outlook 2003, when I try and open outlook on its own it is ok. However if I attempt to create a pst or attach a pst, outlook will crash.

This is happening on the citrix 3.0 server as well as xp clients.

Could you give more detail. I'm not really clear exactly what you mean.

    Hi Newt,

Just to provide more background. we have Citrix 3.0 PS running on Windows 2003 Server. We have installed office 2003 on these Terminal servers.

When the user logons or even administrator logon and launches Outlook, there is no issue. However when these users\admins attempts to connect or create a pst, the outlook application will fail.

this is the error from the eventlog.

    Faulting application outlook.exe, version 11.0.6353.0, stamp 408f2937, faulting module mspst32.dll, version 11.0.6357.0, stamp 40b65fc5, debug? 0, fault address 0x0001b745.

Hope this helps clarify things a little.

Personal folder files are unsupported over a LAN or over a WAN link

    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;297019

    SUMMARY
This article tells you why personal folder files (.pst files) are unsupported over a local area network (LAN) or wide area network (WAN) link. The .pst files are not meant to be a long-term, continuous-use method of storing messages in an enterprise environment.

The article also suggests two alternatives to .pst files. You can use .ost files or Microsoft Windows Terminal Services.
