What I'm looking for is a USB B male to parallel cable.
What I am trying to do is connect a USB printer to a computer with parallel port.

If such a beast exists please provide a link to it. If it doesn't exist then I would be just as happy with a wiring diagram. Even a wiring diagram of a usb to parallel cable would work.

    Thanks all in advance

Did the pc run out of USB ports? You could get a hub or a PCI USB card for under ten bucks.

There should be a store near you that specializes in making just about any cable you need. Ask one of the local PC stores for a recommendation (if they do not offer to make it for you.)
But Steve R Jones's idea is better. Are you even sure the printer will run with a parallel connection?

I get the feeling that what you're looking for may not exist. As mentioned, I'd see if you can add some USB ports to your box. Sometimes there are pin headers on the mainboard which can be connected to an external bracket for extra usb ports.

I know you can go the other way because I had to help my daughter connect a parallel printer to her laptop with usb ports (only).

I guess I should clear some things up. This is for a laptop user who has a single usb port but its fried and only 1 functional PCMCIA which has a NIC in it. Also I work at a computer store :D .

Everyone I have talked to hasn't ever seen or heard of what im looking for.

If anyone knows of a place to find the wiring schematic of a USB to Parallel. I could probably make my own cable.

Again thanks for the suggestions thus far.

You may also wish to consider a USB to parallel converter, these converters will convert the USB signals into signals that can be understood by the parallel port. However, it's important to keep in mind that if your printer only supports USB, the printer's software will still not work. This solution should enable your printer to communicate with the computer, but in order to print you would have to install a generic parallel printer driver available through the operating system. This means many of the features of the printer will not work. We do not recommend this solution, but would like to make it known that it is available.
