The last two days I have had a weird thing happen to my computer I am in on the internet actually reading the news and all of a sudden the mouse goes kind of crazy and changes everything all over the place it moves everything around on desk top and I can`t do anything but watch I can hear the mouse clicking but it is doing this all by itself only way I can stop it is shut down the computer and restart it again. This has happened twice in the last two days. Anyone know what could cause this. I have windows 98 SE Internet explorer 6.0 .

I checked out that page and it gave me some ideas what to do but before I do them .
My mouse worked find until two days ago so can`t understand why it all of a sudden went beserk. Actually the mouse pointer was moving all around all on its own and I didn`t see any answers for that. Its just like all of a sudden the mouse had a mind of its own and just clicked everything in its travels. Just thought their might be something that would cause it to do this.
If not and it happens again will try something from the page.
Just thought it might be my virus protector or something else that could cause it like spyware. Just thoughts. Thanks

    twitching mouse

I know what ya mean really! My Logitec wheel mouse, balless so nothing to clean, does the twitch every now n then but never clicks on things by itself? I'm runnin' winxp & nothing anywhere on this than. It does this when interfaced via USB or PS/2. I've just throw up my hands & wait a second for the pointer to "land ", then continue on...............;)

Well for some reason the mouse has settled down and I have no idea what caused it or what I did to stop it.
I did check for viruses I haven`t any but my virus protector is on all the time and it is Norton. I had just updated it on Sunday.
The only thing I found out while I did a scan that a DLL had to be innoculated but doubt if that was the problem but maybe it was.
I also used spyware and I had two files I had to delete other than that that is all I did. But so far it is working ok now. Thanks for all the info.
