    Hi all,

I'm working on my MCSA. I'm having a hard time with Security Permissions in Windows 2k3. Here is a simple question:

What is the difference between these NTFS Folder permissions: "List Folder Contents" applied explicitly with the "Read & Execute" permission, and the Special Access Permission: "Traverse Folder/Execute File" As far as I can tell, they are identical.

    Go head' splain'

    Thanks in advance. :)

Thanks for the reply Newt. I'm thinking that for MCSA,the special permissions aren't stressed. But I'm looking for NTFS for Dummies. I know there isn't any such title in that series but I'm really struggling here.

For what it's worth, this is just my 2 cents. I've taken a few MS exams. I have always found the books from Microsoft MSPress to be better than others, in terms of what will be expected on the test.

Additionally, I have actually used several scenario's in the books for production applications.

    Thanks for the post Don,

I am using the MS Press book for Exam 70-290, I was just seeking a better understanding of Security Permissions.
