I have Trend Micro installed on my Windows XP computer. This service, which is highly recommended, gives me very good virus protection. I understand that Service Pack 2 for Windows XP (and Windows Vista, due out in 2006) has virus protection in it. If I were to download Service Pack 2 (or get Windows Vista next year) would that frustrate my Trend Micro? How would my computer know which virus protection software to use? Thank you.

There is no virus protection build into Windows XP SP2, and there probably won't be in Vista either.

Probably you can get A/V protection with Windows OneCare, which will be subscription based (i.e. $$).

But you do want to get XP SP2 loaded. It has lots of the security holes from earlier versions closed and it a much more secure OS version.
