Spider Solitaire came in a package of games with my Dell computer but this game now won't load. Has anybody any ideas as to how I could get it to work again please?

    Hello Florence,

Whether using a desktop icon or all programs > spider to start it - they are shortcuts.

Right click on the shortcut > properties > Shortcut tab.

What's the target? Should be a .exe file in the Program folder. Navigate to that folder/file and double click on it. If it doesn't start, your other option is to reinstall it from the Dell cd that has Dell preinstalled programs on it.

    Regards - Charles

Spider Solitaire is a standard Windows XP game, the executable file is located (Sorry, Charles - not Program Files :)) .....

    %SystemRoot%\System32\spider.exe

If it is missing go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components > Accessories & Utilities > Details > Games > Details and see if Spider Solitaire is checked. If unchecked, checkit and OK out. You may be asked for the install CD.

No Problem Pete, thought it was a Dell installed game, but that was the reason for asking where the shortcut pointed to :)

    I don't have it BTW.

EDIT: What I have is plain old Solitaire apparently:
    %SystemRoot%\System32\sol.exe

    Regards - Charles
