Hi ... I just bought 2 new OCZ 512MB 400 MHz / PC3200 DDR Memory sticks , Now when I use Everest to view my rams , I notice that the speed isn't 400MHz but , Rather 200MHz , Could there be a mistake with Everest ? Also is there another way to tell what the memory speed really is ? Thanks

    TerryFox,
DDR stands for Double Data Rate which means that the modules are triggered twice on each cycle, on the rising edge and on the falling edge. The Bus runs at 200 MHz but DDR memory modules work at twice the speed = 400 MHz.

I was at a friends place two weeks ago and trouble shooted his computer. He had two DDR memory modules, one DDR 2700 module for which Everest said 166 MHz and one DDR 2100 module for which Everest said 133 MHz.

I forgot to post a link to Wikipedia and their explanation:

    Double data rate
