Xp totally shuts down

    I am using xp home edition and have done a search and all and cannot find anything to solve my problem.
    Most of the time this happenes while playing a game but also every now and then does it while searching the internet.
    My hard drive just shuts down totally, it does not reboot or anything I have to re-hit power button, it is really starting to bug me.
    Some body please help, if u need more info I can give more just let me know what u need and where to look for it.

    Hi,
    you not have clearly define * what do you mean to say by shut down ? *
    is your system shutdown ?
    is your system get freeze ?
    have you set up power option ? for HDD inactivity ?

    please define some more to get good answers .

    Hello AussieJackal,

    One likely possibility is that it may be a power supply problem, either not enough power or gone bad.

    Download/install Everest Home Edition (free) http://www.lavalys.com/products.php?lang=en for your system hardware info, especially the PSU - power supply specs.
