NOTE: if you see my old post from about a week ago, this is a different notebook...

I was driving to the bank this afternoon and had my notebook sitting on the seat next to me. This is a new HP notebook... when I got there, I realized that I left it on, so I opened the lid to turn it off using the windows key+u+u, nothing happened... I wondered what was going on, which then I proceded to test my keyboard. After about 10 minutes, I restarted it thinking that there might just be a process eating up ALL of the available memory and it locked up. when I restarted it, I pushed the F8 key to enter the windows selection screen. Everything was going normal, the screen popped up, but as soon as I went to make a selection by using the arrow keys, the selector did not move. Allthough, the thing that got me the most was that the timer stopped... the only thing that stops that timer is if you HIT A KEY...

Is there some way that the keybord driver (FOR A NOTEBOOK MIND YOU) has been uninstalled... and if it has... how would I recover the computer since the keyboard does not even work in BIOS...

Another thing that comes to mind, perhaps my computer picked up a virus on the way, as it has a bad habit of connecting to any network that is in range.

    Thanks for the help

First you say that it is new. If it's under warrenty I would make HP take care of it. If not the first thing I would do is to open it up and make sure the cable from the keyboard isn't loose or cocked.
