    Hello,

I'm having problems printing a document in Word 97. The document contains several embedded Excel charts. When one user tries to print the document on one of our network printers, some of the charts have disappeared, and other charts from within the same document have replaced them. However, when I try print the same document to the same printer, everything prints fine.

We are both using Word 97, SR-2.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

Are you both opening the document from the same location, or are you working with two separate copies of the same document?
And is it the same revision of the document?
And, if you are on a network, do you both have the necessary permissions to both the document and the spreadsheet.

I'm thinking that if you move the document and spreadsheet relative to each other the linking may go haywire and possibly create the problems you describe.

Another thing you don't mention is whether or not the document looks correct on this other users screen before printing - ie. is the document flawed on his workstation or just the printout.

No definite answers, but hopefully something to help you solve the problem.

    Thanks for the reply Laage!

I'm not sure if the linking of the documents is a problem in this case. I'm pretty sure the charts are embedded copies of the originals, rather than links to other separate documents. If this was the case, I would expect to have the same errors myself when I looked at the document, as I probably wouldn't have permissions to the original files myself.

Also, the document does look fine on the users screen before printing.

    Any more thoughts on this?

    Terry
