No, still wants the CD. I should be seeing my friend this weekend so I'll get it of him. I can't think what's doing this. Most of the exe's are bring up the dialog box saying it needs to end but I can still continue to use it?

Yes - SFC really does procrastinate at times - like most of the time :)

If you had an XP CD I would suggest a repair install, but as you do not I wonder if you have a System Restore point prior to these problems occurring.

I'm out this evening, but will check back when I return.

No, I rarely have System Restore on. Clogs up the PC I feel and makes it run slower. This is very strange. I'l try and get hold of the CD and see what that does. Anyone else, feel free to post your suggestions.

System Restore only Clogs up the machine if you allow it too.

1st-It in not really necessary to have it set up on partitions other than C: ( or the one where the OS is ).

2nd-After making changes ( adding, removing, general cleanup etc. ) and you find that all is going to be OK, you should shut down SR and let it make a new one

3rd-A restore point several days old may be more trouble then help. ( Old Man Expierence Speaking ) It may well not contain updates, general changes etc. made since it was made.

4th-Regardless of what Mr. Gates and Company would like us to believe, SR is not a set and forget item. To do a good reliable job it requires USER input.

I just looked and I only have one from yesterday. That is because I removed two programs and added one new one, Updated a couple of others. Even though some of the sutff was on other than C: The RPs previous to that would be nothing but TROUBLE if used.
