Word 2003 is scrolling down automatically

I am working in Word 2003 and as I type the document is scrolling down or jumping automatically. Even when I am on the internet it will do the same thing. It is hard for me to find out where my cursor is and where I am at in the document. It is about to drive me crazy ! Is there something that I can turn off? Can anyone lead me in the right direction to correct this?
