    Hello all,,I'm sure that this has been asked, but I notice that the people with the answers seem to have "work-arounds" for some stuff. I would love to just D/L the best version (your opinion) of Communicator. I will be keeping IE5.5 as my default browser. When I get an e-mail with a link, if I click on it can IE open instead of Navigator? Hope I made myself clear :)

    Many Thanks,,Paul

    PAULDEP,

    I use Communicator 4.78 and have been really happy with it. You could also try 4.79. Higher versions do not have all the bugs worked out, so I would stay away from those right now. As far as the links, I think that if you open the email in Netscape, Netscape would open the new page. No way of getting IE to open it, that I know of. Maybe Ramona, the Resident Guru, will have a thought for you.

    Hi Paul,

    Mike is doing great in the guru department, and he's right on target.

    The default browser is the one that handles .htm and .html extensions, as shown in Windows Explorer, under
    VIEW|FOLDER OPTIONS|FILE TYPES|NetScape Hypertext Document... or in your case, it would be Internet Explorer.

    :( Well thank you to another GURU in this great forum Ramona.
    I guess I'll just have to live with it if I use Netscapes E-mail''
    I thought when AOL bought Netscape and with all the $$$ AOL has it would make a better browser.
    Bye 4 now,,,Paul

    Best version of Communicator?
    Some said, 4.76 but I recommend 4.79
    Because 4.79 has a few more fixes and it has following two features...
    * Java plug-in support (from v4.78)
    * improved CSS support

    (If hb is here, he would probably suggest you try the standard support Netscape 6 or 7, the Navigator stand-alone.)

    Since you are asking for opinions, I just add my opinion. This post is not to confuse you.
