Firefox 1.5 RC2 is available

Firefox1.5 RC2 is out. It can be obtained by the internal update, from 1.5 RC1 or by download (see: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ )

 

Seems a little faster also.
It told me my "PrefBar" add-on was not compatable with this version but
other than that seems good.

Extensions: tab x, adblock, spoofstick, Add bookmark here... don't appear (according to the extension's descriptions) to work with this upgrade. Therefore why bother to install it just to gain a few milliseconds?

speed is not the point. This version is an improvement on the 1.0.x. If extentions are very important to you, stick to 1.0.7, by all means.
Extentions are funny. I was always getting Forecastfox, but it became incompatible at about 1.0.7. However, I can use the latest version in 1.5. Of course, I am not happy being unable to use some extentions, but I don't dismiss 1.5 for that reason alone. But, I still stick with 1.0.7, as well.
And, by the way Fasterfox is an excellent extention, not necessarily because it imparts blazing speed, but for all its features.

 

In what sense is the upgrade an improvement?

I would call rc2 a minor update of rc1, and it is expected at this stage of the game.
