My boss bought several laptops that came with XP Home. We have a domain environment in our company, and XP Home cannot join a domain. My question is: How can I set up the sharing/security permissions so that these computers can access a directory on a W2K3 server?

    TIA for any suggestions

Put the workstations in a workgroup with it's name exactly matching your domain.

Require logon with username/password for the workstations.

Add the workstation logon accounts to the server's list of user accounts and give those accounts the needed permissions to the shares in question.

Newt is dead on. I forgot I do that with my laptop all the time so I can get to Domain resources at a clients facility.

It wouldn't surprise me if Outlook would even talk to Exchange.
