I have been using Windows 2000 Pro - SP4 for some time now and have had no problems up until now ...

Whenever I right click on a destop item or right click a file in Explorer, a box pops up informing me that 'Explorer has encountered errors and will be closed by Windows'. Windows then throws me out of Explorer and all my desktop shortcuts momentarily disappear and then return. Occasionally, I am then invited to restore my active desktop or my desktop just returns by itself.

This is now happening everytime I right click with my mouse.

I just can't think of anything that I have done to trigger this and have tried everything to resolve it.

Any ideas as to why this has suddenly started happening would be apreciated as I'm finding that my system has suddenly become very frustrating and unworkable when dealing with files in Explorer.

Just after I posted this, I noticed the thread about the app to disable shell extensions. The culprit was Winzip and now everything is working fine again. :D
