    G'Day All,

Have just been installing Service Pack 1 on our 2003 servers and noticed that after the install a folder is created called C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles that is hogging 624MB of disk space. As far as I can gather these are just stored service pack files.

So is it OK to delete this folder or will dire consequences follow? MS are typically vague on this subject. Any suggestions would be welcome??

    Thanks

    Oz

If you are absolutely positive you will never need to back out the SP, you can delete the folder.

    Newt,

Thanks for that. Think I might leave it for a few days and then throw caution to the wind and delete the folder.

    Cheers

    Oz :)

Newt--I know 2003Server is different than XP, but are those ServicePackFiles the same as the $NtUninstallxxxxxx$ files in XP? If so, your advice would then certainly apply, but I would not think I would delete XP's ServicePack files.

From what I can remember you can always slipstream the Service Pack onto you W2k3 server CD. If you are ever asked to get a file put in the slipstreamed cd. It should work.
