Something happened to one of the folders I have in Netscape 7.2 where I store messages I want to keep. I can't seem to write to it nor can I delete it (I was able to capture and restore the messages in it by sending them to myself from another computer).

I've created another folder with a slightly different name to continue processing (filters, etc.) but it is very annoying not to be able to delete this folder (and eventually re-establish its name as a working folder).

Any ideas on what is causing this and, more importantly, how I get rid of this dead folder... incidently, if I accadently click on it to open it I get a permanent hour glass... have to stop the program and restart to continue.

Is this a folder which you created? Like subfolder of Inbox, or another folder in your account? I never had problem like that. In fact, I removed six or seven subfolders, or created folders from one account. I right click|move to other folders all important mail, and then deleted the subfolders, with the remaining mail, before removing the account. From what you say, it seems that you could not even move the messages from the bad to the good folder, from the same computer, or did you try it?
Did you try to compact the "bad" folder? Is there still mail in it.
I don't fully understand what is holding you up.

    Welcome to the Forum, Clint_C!

    Clint,

Have you tried deleting the msf files in this folder?
Exit Netscape and Quick Launch, and open Windows Explorer
Open the problem folder, and delete all files with an MSF extension
The files without the MSF extension contain your messages.

    Open Netscape
    Compact the Folder

If you still are unable to delete the folder, then again,
Exit Netscape and Quick Launch, and open Windows Explorer
    Delete the folder

Let us know if this helps...
