Well I am going to finally switch over to Thunderbird ( after a lot of ribbing from my Friends) I have told everybody they should be using Thunderbird, and what have I been using mozilla suit! Well on to the Question I currently have been using Archiving, and Accessing Mail on CD and it works great! when I switch over to Thunderbird can I use the same CD/RW that I was using (keeping all of my old email) for Mozilla Suit 7.12 or should I make a new one

    sutsujsti,

I would certainly try it to see if that is possible. When I switched from Mozilla to T-Bird, I created a newer up to date CD, but if yours is up to date, then give it a whirl.

Let us know if it works, as I would be very interested...

    Hi all
Well I went and switched to Thunderbird from mozilla suit & all went better than expected! not one problem ! It imported all of my email & server settings!. So neadless to say I am a happy camper!and the big bonus, setting up my archive to CD/RW went flawless. All I had to do was go into Server settings for the archive account and point it to my CD/RW and presto it found it :D. So there is no trouble at all switching over to Thunderbird from mozill suit :p Now all I will have to do is deleat Mozilla suit after a week of using Thunderbird ( just incase of unforeseen trouble)

If you have no use for the suite, make sure that you uninstall it from the Add/Remove, and not "delete" it. The profile will remain, in case you change your mind. You will need a browser, anyway, and that can be Firefox.

    good morning all
hear is one for you, as above this is what has happened yesterday! I put in my archive cd to put some more email on it and its gone! I dont know what happened but this is the response I get when I try to open anything on the cd. Now there is nothing there that even resembles the things I had on the cd
    Dear Customer,

You are currently trying to read a disc in the UDF Packetwriting format.
You are seeing this message instead of the contents of the disc because your system currently does not support the UDF format.

To make your System UDF compatible, we have developed a complimentary software tool, the InCD Reader.

To download the latest InCD Reader just visit our website at

I have just made a new cd/rw and all works fine! I thought it may of had something to do with using mozilla suit then using it for thunderbird but I tried it in both email clients and it works just as before great go figure! must be the gremlins again!

    sutsujsti,

This is what I found Googling:

Windows XP provides a UDF driver for Legacy formatted media. But this driver does not support discs created using the Mt. Rainer format process, or MRW.

The Message you were receiving was eluding to this fact. So if you downloaded and then installed the InCD Reader, it should then allow you to read the MRW formatted disc. There is no need to 'activate' or enable it, as it's active once you install and reboot your system.

If you still get this message when you try and read the MRW formatted disc, then we must assume that the driver failed to install properly. I would recommend trying to install it again, or if you have another system you can go to, try installing the InCD Reader there and see if you can read the disc. You do not need to install the InCD.exe program to read the disc, only the reader.

So the problem isn't with Mozilla/Firefox, it's your Nero software and Windows.

I agree that the trouble is not Mozilla or thunderbird! But I do think its trouble with the disk, not Nero or windows. If I was having trouble with Nero or windows I don't think I could read the new disk, which was made with Nero ( formatted with Nero) for CD/RW to be used as a floppy! Also when I try to create a new folder on that disk it will not let me, it gives me the error ( unable to create the folder access Denied ) It almost acts like the files are hidden or password protected,If thats the case I didn't do it. I have not tried to re-format the disk but I will soon, I have been trying to save the email that is on it. I copied it to my desktop But I think the files are to small to be all of my stuff. I will go to Nero web sight and see what they say may be there is a bug with Nero 6
