I have accidently on purpose altered the file type for a "Folder" so that explore is the default I want to revert it back so the list reads as follows:

    explore
    open
    open with Ulead Photo Explorer

Does NOT have any settings for default (none should be in bold)

Has I am getting some weird results in that CP and Recycle bin opens in list folder mode (my default setting) and I would like them back as showing the menu on the left.

    paulbristow--Not sure I understand. But I'll have a try.
In Windows Explorer, click Tools|Options|File Types. Near the top of the list highlight "Folder "|click Advanced. Now you will see the commands that are already entered for Folder. The one that is highlighted is the Default. If you want to set one of the other commands as Default you highlight it (like Open) and click Set Default. (I am afraid that is going to put that command in bold, but I am not sure why that is of concern to you.)
If you want to add other commands to the list, you click New and enter the necessary settings.

    Jim

What has happened is that the Recycle Bin and CP appear in list view and not folders (list view is my preferred viewing for explorer) and I cannot seem to get them back to display folders, the reason I mentioned the bold setting is that they went bold after I made explore the default command and previously there was none in bold so I was trying to get them back to the default setting where none of the commands are in bold.

I have tried the View/apply to all folders and reset all folders but this does not make any difference, also in the registry I have altered the BagMRU size
    (http://www.helpwithwindows.com/WindowsXP/troub-11.html) .

Any more ideas would be helpful
