Everest 1.50 < differences > 2.00

Hello all!

I have used Everest 1.50 on my own computer but have installed 2.00 (and 2.20) more recently on other computers. I have not used versions between 1.50 and 2.00. I have no later version than 2.20.

The 'groups' below are in 1.50 but those in red colour are missing in 2.00 (and 2.20):

I have turned 2.00 (and 2.20) inside-out to find an option to display the missing 'groups'. I'm finding Operating System and Software useful and miss them.

Anyone know why they are missing and possibly how to get them back?

No and that's my concern.

In 1.50 there are all the 'groups' in the left hand pane that I listed, including the red ones. Highlighting Operating System > Operating System will in the right hand pane show a lot of information, such as;

- Operating System Properties,
- License Information,
- Current Session,
- Components Version,
- Operating System Features

and then there is ...... ...... well, see the attached screenshot for the rest under Operating System and the other 'groups' in red!

(I noticed this when I couldn't find 'Up-time' in Everest 2.20 on a computer which has a problem. Up-time is displayed under Operating System > Operating System - Current Session.)

I went to Lavalys to see what I could find and it was ...... ...... to find out that the Features | EVEREST Home Edition do not include 'Software information'.

I wonder which version was the last to have the 'full package'?

However, 1.50 does not work well on 64-bit processors (Athlon 64) but 2.20 does. I have only tested on one system based on a 64-bit processor, though.

I have checked my archive and I have 1.51 as the latest prior to 2.xx (if that was the 'transition point'). Does anyone else have a later version than 1.51 that is pre-2.xx?

Interesting info - the latest version I have archived is also 1.51.

The Russian version of 1.52.224 is supposedly here - FWIW

and this Google references 15,500 English pages for Everest 1.52 - I leave it to you to go through them

I have been googling my 'you know what' off and have come across a lot of download links. Most of them redirect to 'http://www.lavalys.hu/pre/everesthome/...' and are dead. The builds were all betas (/pre/ in the address indicates that). I have only seen one build of 1.52 that was not 'labeled' beta - 211. 206, 220, 223, 224 were all betas and I suspect that 211 was too since it was from the above download address.

I have actually downloaded a zipped version of 206 from a russian site. (Your link is dead!)

Hi maggie!

It seems like the build you have is the last with 'all features'. I have found Reviews of Everest and the comments on build 333 indicate that it is actually so.

Hi Charles!

My research has led me to believe that 2.00.333 was a short lived release then came 2.00.334 beta and subsequently 2.00.335 which was available for some time. All have been robbed of the software info. 2.00.327 beta, which has the software info, preceeded 2.00.333. The builds skip some numbers in the sequence which makes me wonder if there was any 2.00.328-2.00.332?
